Inflatable Castle Legal Requirements Guide
As a professional manufacturer of inflatable castles, MasterBounce understands the importance of product safety. To help you better understand the legal requirements surrounding inflatable castles and ensure your operations are compliant, we have outlined the key regulations as follows:
1. Safety Standards
In accordance with the mandatory national standard GB 37219-2023: Safety Regulations for Inflatable Amusement Devices, effective from July 1, 2024, the safety requirements for inflatable castles have been significantly enhanced. Key provisions include:
-
Anchoring and Ballast Systems: Inflatable castles used outdoors must be equipped with a fixed foundation or a ballast device securely attached to the structure. Additionally, they must include an anemometer. Outdoor inflatable castles must have at least six anchoring points evenly distributed around the perimeter. Each anchoring point, including components like stakes, ballast, and ropes, must be capable of withstanding a pull force of no less than 1600N.
-
Leakage and Overpressure Protection: Inflatable castles must be equipped with an internal air pressure monitoring system that can provide timely alerts in the event of air leakage. The inflatable blower should have an automatic alarm function to detect unexpected shutdowns and prevent deformation or collapse due to insufficient air supply. Non-continuous inflating inflatable castles must be fitted with at least one safety pressure relief valve.
-
Material Requirements: The material thickness for inflatable castles typically ranges from 0.45mm to 0.9mm and must meet durability standards, including abrasion resistance, tear resistance, and UV resistance.
-
Usage and Management Requirements: Inflatable castles must not be used during inclement weather such as thunderstorms, heavy rain, fog, snow, or frost, or when wind speeds exceed 8 m/s.
2. Scope of Application
The standard applies to inflatable amusement devices intended for children aged 3 to 14 and used on land. This includes inflatable castles, slides, and similar structures. It does not apply to inflatable water amusement devices, inflatable toys, inflatable buildings, rubber boats, inflatable swimming pools, or inflatable devices used for advertising, exhibitions, acrobatics, safety, rescue, aviation, and aerospace purposes.
3. Regulatory Requirements
Inflatable castles are classified as special equipment. The operational venues must comply with corresponding fire safety standards. The fire department will inspect the layout, fire prevention measures, electrical facilities, and evacuation routes of the inflatable castles.
